Commercial relocations can be very complex. To get everything right at the first time you may need some help of professional movers
Plan every step of your relocation
Build a moving team
Manage the communication
Many people when moving from one office to another do not know where to start. Some people think that they should start with the furniture and others plan to start with moving the equipment present in the office.
In both situations they are wrong. In the first place you should turn off all electrical devices from the network. Then you need to disconnect all the available office communication devices. When packing computers use the marker or stickers to tag all wires. Give them the same numbers as for the computers they belong to. In the future you will avoid any confusion and time wastage caused by searching appropriate cables.
Each telephones and computers that belong to one person or desk should be packed separately. You can put it all into one box. The stationery and personal belongings from the office desks put into another box. Organize a separate crate for the files. It is much easier to move boxes if they are not overloaded. Try not to pack more than 25 kilograms into one carton. Today office removal services are available at affordable prices. Get a couple of quotes from local movers to find out if you can afford it. The price is always negotiable.
For the transportation of PC screens you will need bubble bags or PVC film. Take your time and wrap each monitor very carefully. When putting them into boxes make sure the front of the screen faces the wall of the box. Make sure the cables especially plugs are far away from the front of the screen. You can also hire special computer crates in which your IT equipment will be save during the move. If you have not got rid of the original boxes you can also use them. If you cannot find right boxes, you can wrap the equipment in the corrugated cardboard and secure it tightly with a duct tape.
Since there are always a lot of papers in the offices you will also need more special containers. They should be more durable and roomy. Plastic bags will not do the job. The files can lose a normal appearance and crumple in the flimsy polyethylene which may also break when you move it. It is best to take the boxes, which are made of corrugated cardboard or hire plastic boxes. They cost just 60 pence per week per crate. Do not overload the boxes. As the crates are lockable make sure nothing is sticking out so you can close the leads properly. Otherwise you will not be able to stack boxes one on the another. Proper packaging for computer and other equipment will allow you to avoid breakage or damage to the items that you carry
Since the furniture is large sometimes it is necessary to dismantle them. Some furniture just does not fit the lift or a narrow corridor. All items must be carefully packed so that they do not get lost on the way. When packing the office furniture make sure all parts and panels are packed together. This will help you to reassemble them much faster. The principle is if you do not need to dismantle your furniture do not do it. Take it and just wrap it tightly in furniture blankets. All boxes and items should be marked - this will allow you to quickly locate a particular document or item when you need it.
